The INSTANTIS Six Sigma Maturity Model (iSSMM™) defines the five commonly experienced levels of Six Sigma maturity.

The iSSMM was first hypothesized in October 2006 by Dr. Prasad Raje, INSTANTIS founder and CEO and has been called the first rigorous attempt to describe the Six Sigma journey from launch and early success to culture transformation. .

In March 2007 INSTANTIS published the results of an online study designed to validate and refine the Six Sigma Maturity Model which was subsequently updated to reflect the feedback from over 100 respondent organizations worldwide.
